Port Lincoln Golf Report
We give thanks to Blaslov Fishing Group this week as they sponsored the week of chaos which golfers attempted to do their best in. With a mix of sideways rain and perfectly calm conditions, each hole was a different experience for everybody playing at the Port Lincoln Golf Club this week.
On Saturday, a small field of forty-four men took to the course. Trent Bradford was able to scramble his way to the top of B Grade, securing himself a score of 37 points. He was able to scamper away from David Bellchambers in second with his score of 33. In the A Grade, a countback was required to determine a winner. In the end, Taylor Ford was able to get his arm raised, just ahead of Michael Hegarty with both men scoring 37 points. David Reid was able to secure the win in C Grade, his score of 37 points five shots clear of his nearest competitor in Shaun Carpenter.
A small group of women battled the conditions on Saturday in Stableford Competition where Helen George was able to claw her way to the top with 27 points. Helen found herself two shots clear of Elaine Pierik who again was two shots clear of Heather Darley.
A larger field took to the Stroke Competition on Thursday where Adie Fraser clinched the win with a Nett score of 79. Two shots behind her were the combined efforts of Jo Higgins, Elaine Pierik, Heather Darley and Cynthia Thompson.
In Wednesday’s Stableford competition, Bill Bascomb was able to take the victory in A Grade via a countback from Haydn Myers with both men entering 37 points to their name. Warren Rosman secured the win in B Grade with his score of 35, two shots ahead of Kallan Fowler. Brenton George was able to find the win ahead of Lindsay Gordon with them scoring 36 and 34 points respectively.
Monday’s Stableford competition saw Michael Hegarty claim the win in a small field ahead of David Norman with his score of 36 just clear of David’s 33.
Sunday’s Mixed Stableford competition was taken out by Mitchell Garrett after playing to handicap and submitting a score of 36. Boyd McCurry was close behind and lodged a score of 35.
