Saturday’s stellar conditions allowed a number of golfers to blitz their way to great rounds with the Saturday's competitions being sponsored by EP Cleaning Supplies. A hundred men took to the field with some simply outstanding Stableford scores topping each grade. In the A Grade, Tyron George just edged past James Blewit on a countback, both men scoring 41 points. B Grade was taken out by Kym Hosking with his score of 39. Bob Ford and Tate Secker were two shots behind with scores of 37. In the C Grade a Countback was also necessary to determine a winner, Peter Watherston just sneaking past Brad Giles with both men scoring 39.
Lorraine McDonald found herself atop the women’s Saturday Stableford competition, her 37 points enough to edge past a wall of players two shots behind. Libby Dolphin, Elaine Pierik, Kaye Jaensch and Lyn Hosking all returned to the clubrooms with 35 points to their name.
With twenty four women playing in Stableford Competition on Thursday, proudly sponsored by Bradford Construction, it was Margaret Jenkins who found herself atop the leaderboard with a well earned 41 points. Jill Arcus, Jo Higgins and Maxine Garnaut just missed out on honours with the three putting together scores of 40.
Bradford Construction also sponsored the men’s Wednesday Stableford competition with seventy eight men taking part. Score of the day belonged to Peter Davies in A Grade, his score of 40 just enough to get past Clinton Scharfe who had a score of 39. Tony Dragun topped B Grade with a score of 39, four shots clear of his nearest rivals in Peter Leahy and Juri Berzins. Ian Sellen was victorious in C Grade with his score of 39. A countback was necessary to find second place, David Reid just getting past David Norman and Michael Haritos with all three men scoring 38.
Monday’s Stableford Competition saw Brenton George come out on top, his score of 34 just enough to get past Haydon Manning and his score of 33.
Sunday’s Stableford Competition saw the score of the week, Daniel Brown shooting 70 off the stick to secure a score of 42 points. Danny Sharp was his nearest opponent with 38.
