Port Lincoln Golf Club strongly encourages all visitors and members to read and abide by our policies. Below is a list of these policies as well as the club's local constitution and rules as well as the 201-2020 strategic plan.
May be used in all club competitions but are not allowed within 10 metres of greens and 5 metres of tees where possible.
Competitors required for play offs in championship events must be in the clubhouse when the last cards are presented to the match committee otherwise that competitor will be deemed to have forfeited the right to be involved in the playoff. Playoff holes will be 1st for Ladies and 9th for Men. Sudden death format to apply.
Players must play within the times established by the Committee. Playing groups should be no larger than four players, unless at the end of the field - maximum 5 players.
Players should be present at least 5 minutes prior to the nominated starting time and must hit off on time and play all holes in sequence.
Prior to commencing play, players must be financial, enter the competition by registering in the competition on the computer and by placing the competition fee in the envelope with their name and place it in the fees receptacle. In the event of computer malfunction blank scorecards are available and should be used. Failure to comply with any of these requirements may render the player to be disqualified.
Visitors from reciprocal and other clubs may enter the competitions but will not be eligible to win major prizes or trophies (Open days and Special Events excepted). A suitable alternative trophy will be provided to winning visitors.
Country members are not eligible to win closed club events.
All disputes shall be resolved by the Match Committee members present on the day.
Local Rules - as at January 2019
Out of Bounds
A ball lying beyond the perimeter fence or in the car park is out of bounds.
The dam bordered by the 10th, 17th & 18th holes is a penalty area and is defined by red stakes. Relief may be taken under Rule 17.1.
No Play Zones
Penalty Area - The area within the red penalty area bordered by the 10th, 17th and 18th holes defined by brown posts with linked white rope is a No Play Zone. When a ball is in a No Play Zone within the penalty area, the ball must not be played as it lies and relief must be taken from interference by the No Play Zone under Rule 17.1e. Entry to this area is prohibited.
Staked trees identified by white stakes or less than 2 club-lengths in height are No Play Zones and are Ground Under Repair. Relief must be taken under Rule 16.1f.
If a ball comes to rest on the fairway or the fairway marker of the hole being played, the player may take free relief once by placing the original ball or another ball within one club grip length of the spot of the original ball. The relief area must not be nearer the hole than the reference point and must be in the general area. The fairway markers are the outer mowed edges and/or the dye spots.
Abnormal Course Conditions (Including Immovable Obstructions) - Rule 16
a. Exposed rocks in the general area
b. Roads and marks made by an implement or a vehicle (other than a golf cart)
c. Travelling sprinklers, their wires, hoses and spray
d. Rough or pitted areas on any putting green - Relief may be taken as per Rule 16.1d
e. All landscaped/planted garden beds
Suspension of Play for Dangerous Situation
Will be signalled by activation of the siren. All play must immediately cease - Rule 5.7b(1)
Penalty for Breach of Local Rule is the general penalty (stroke play - two strokes, match play - loss of hole)
